Wave Academy is suitable for all players born in the years 2014 (8U) and 2015 (7U).
This program is the bridge and foundation to the WSC Competitive program. Wave Academy offers a more competitive environment for players to develop their skills and prepare them to play competitive soccer at 9U.
There are two different seasons for Wave Academy. The spring program runs from May-June and the fall program runs late August-early October.
Each week the players will work with coaches who lead the sessions and develop the players' skills and small group tactics throughout the season.
All players will need the following for training and game days:
1) Size 3 Soccer Ball
3) Shin Guards - socks should cover the entire shin guard
4) Water Bottle

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Should we register for both a Rec and Wave Academy Program?
A: No. Please enroll your child in the program you want him/her to participate in.
Q: Who finds the professional trainers/coaches?
A: Our Wave SC Director of Coaching will coordinate the trainers/coaches for the sessions that each Academy player will receive. These trainers/coaches will have experience in training 7U-8U players and will focus on creating a fun environment for the kids to develop their skills and understanding of soccer.
Q: What happens after the fall season?
A: Players can participate in the Wave Academy season again in the Spring and are encouraged to tryout for Competitive in the Summer (at 8U/9U).
Q: Is there a Wave Academy program in both the Fall & Spring?
Q: As there are no tryouts for Wave Academy, how do you keep the teams balanced?
A: Wave Academy players will all be together for the weekly training session and will be divided up on assigned teams for the weekly games. We do our best to balance the different age groups among the teams.
Q: What does the registration fee include?
A: The registration fee includes uniforms (one practice shirt and one game day shirt), equipment, fields, and paid trainers.
Q: What is the time commitment?
A: One 1-hour training session and one 1-hour game per week.
